It's all coming together now - very exciting.

Bodywork
Starting to really come together now, was able to do my first dry fit of the torso today, and yes there was a funky dance in celebration afterwards.
Finished brick
Well, when I say finished, it is nothing as good as it should be, but there are only so many times you can repaint something after it gets ruined by the poor spraybooth practices of others. That said, it still looks pretty awesome.

Frantic Progress
Woah, things are flying now. All my major components are just about there, painting is in full flow and several sections are actually finished. Not going to spoil it for you just yet so here are some older pictures of what's occuring.

Better end to the week
Well, what a start to the week - had to relegate myself to several days of nothing but sanding thanks to a slight geographical discrepancy with my keys... but it did need doing.
Concerted efforts at the end of the week more than made up for the slow progress, or at least something a little more visible than much smoother surfaces...

Another blast from the past
While going through the Asylum website now it has been re-vamped, I came across this little nugget of wonderment. Yes that is yours truly installing the roof section of the car in Triton Square outside Santander HQ.

Week 1
And they're off!
What a cracking start! Proposals all went beautifully and just about finished my 3D work.
So where are we with the triple madness?
Well, as you asked....

Well, as you asked....
The puzzle cube has been milled from the waste piece to be an almost perfect cube (2 sides left to square off)
The many Legs of Lego - some scale tests and I will of course be making the largest (12 times normal size!)
Slice of apple? well 4 are done in fact, hopefully the rest of the structure will follow by the end of next week.
Pause for breath and remember that I have another presentation to prepare and a second proposal to make next week..... welcome to crazy!

Big things coming
Final year of my degree looming, so what will I be doing?
Going grey(er), without doubt.. but being the telescopic octopus that my children have forced me to become... I will be working on many pots at the same time (adding to the greyness).
- I have got my grubby little mitts on a solid piece of perspex to mill a solid puzzlecube from...
- I will be making a commission piece for a photographer of a large scale fibreglass apple for posing babies in...
- Oh and for my degree, I will be making a large scale Lego display....
And that is just the plan up until Christmas!!!!
Portfolio will be filling up this year for sure

Overdue update
Well the Dovecote project has been completed and installed, hopefully it will be going on tour in the near future....
More pics in the album, and hopefully some video footage of it in action. Catch it at Aldeburgh Music in the Snape Maltings (I will pop a link on when I get one).

Final Glory
And the Supermarine S6B is completed - when I get the time, I will get the stand done and then get some really nice photos of it. And to those who said I couldn't do it and had bitten off more than I could chew - this is how I roll!

Soooooo close!
Assembly completed, painting and detailing done.... all that is left is the wire and the varnish coat!
Oh and I have been asked by the University if they can put it on display when it is finished. Then at some point a base....

Final touch
Well, one evening of coreldraw tracing off photos of the actual plane, a brief flurry on the laser-cutter and some masks were done for the markings....
All that remains are little touch-ups on the paint, final fixing of the floats and prop - mucho piano wire to be added..... oh and then a dynamic base.
I have to say how much I love the way it has come together.

Prototypes complete
Oh what a day! The 3d print of my cube stand were finished and the first cube was put together... a few kinks to iron out, so cube version 2, 3 and 4 are off to be cut after a few modifications, but it is definitely just about there.
